A cold wind is blowing from the south today.
Trying to wrap another year of gardening and surveying the decay and neglect that has overcome much of my garden over the last year. Its hard to tell what decay that I should allow and what needs to be tended to and repaired before next spring.
The teahouse definitely needs the doors repaired and tracks made as soon as possible. The blinds also need to be cleaned and re-stained.
Dead plants need to be removed, as well as the fence that Graham and I built last spring. It was a fun start; however, I've got a book on building Japanese fences that ought to help us improve the process.
The pond needs cleaning out, but its way too cold to get started on that now.
The deer have started to rub their antlers against the bark of the trees. Unfortunately, this usually destroys the trees. Spent several hours wrapping the trees in chicken wire to prevent this (as well as discourage any browsing on any new shoots). The wire tends to scratch your hands up pretty badly. Gardens always demand blood.
Mozart the cat and the flicker kept me company.
Will get pictures up when I get things cleaned up a bit better.
